Our pillowcases are made from 3rd party certified organic cotton. The printing is done with low-impact inks and dyes to the Global Organic Textile Standards. Conventional cotton consumes approximately 25% of all insecticides used in the world but accounts for only 2.5% of farmland.  The chemicals sprayed on cotton are some of the most hazardous.  According to the World Health Organization, 20,000 people die each year in developing countries as a result of the chemicals sprayed on conventionally grown cotton.  Five of the top nine chemicals used on cotton in the US are known cancer-causing agent. Organically grown cotton is significantly different from conventionally grown cotton.  Organic agriculture increases soil health and combats global warming by taking carbon out of the atmosphere.  Instead of hurting the environment and poisoning the land and people around it, organic cotton offers hope and health. Message Linens is a small-business venture owned by Cheri Kussavage of Nevada City, California. Message Linens produces specialty pillowcases and bed linens for home, baby, body-workers, and pets.

Message Linens creates natural, organic fiber pillowcases and linens, inscribed with positive affirmations.

This unique line of bed linens is designed to bring a sense of Well-Being to the customer. The inspiration of Message Linens comes from Dr. Masaru Emoto’s research that shows the ability of water molecules to make healthy, structural changes when exposed to positive, written words. Our bodies are comprised of mostly water and have the same potential to be influenced with exposure to positive words. And this influence can happen while resting peacefully on beautiful, organic cotton bed linens.

The fabric for the linens is made with certified organic cotton. Harmony Art, the fabric designer and supplier for Message Linens, uses stringent toxicity screening and biodegradability standards in the production of their fabric.

The uplifting words inscribed on the linens are based on the Vimala alphabet. Dr. Vimala Rodgers, author of Your Handwriting Can Change Your Life, is a pioneer in mind/hand research. As an educator, handwriting expert, and Master Alphabetician, she studies the letters of the alphabet and their effect upon the psyche.

The linens are sewn by Esperanza Threads. Esperanza Threads is a fair-wage, democratically operated shop employing low-income individuals manufacturing natural organic cotton clothing in the USA.

Message Linens has created a prototype product to test the local market. The first developmental stage of Message Linens will be packaging pillowcases silk-screened with the positive words of “Love and Gratitude”.
